Write your loved ones letters. Better yet, write several "Open When" letters. Open When letters are sent in a package with instructions, such as "Open this one when you're feeling scared", or "Open this one when you think can't stand to stay home one more day", or "Open this one when the kids are driving you bananas!".
Schedule a night to have dinner and a movie with a friend or loved one - over the internet or phone! If you're comfortable with Facetime, Zoom or Skye, use that, but if not just put your phone on speakerphone and pretend like you're side by side!
Make a video for your grandchildren, your parents, or best friends. You can make it serious or silly, telling them everything you've been doing while stuck at home, or maybe even telling them everything you want to do as soon as you can get out again. Don't forget to ask for one in return!
If the weather is nice and you have neighbors who live close, consider giving them a call to see if they would join you outside - from a safe distance. Take a chair out on the porch and spend a little time catching up, from at least 6 feet away. No close neighbors? Consider spending some time outdoors anyway. Being surrounded by nature often makes us feel more connected.
